6 Days Cultural Tour Imperial Cities of Morocco

Marrakech was founded in 1062, has numerous monuments that are World Heritage Sites and is one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, along with Meknes, Fez and Rabat. It is a city of contrasts. Its bustling streets and labyrinthine souks (traditional markets), contrast with the calm of its Riads and the tranquility of its gardens. We will start our tour of Marrakech with a local guide who will take you to discover the secrets of the second oldest city in Morocco.
WE WILL VISIT:
• The Kotoubia Mosque: The minaret of this famous Mosque is the great Symbol of Marrakech. It is also the tallest building in the city, and can be seen from several points in this Capital.
• The Saadian Tombs: There are 3 mausoleums and here is buried the family of the Saadi dynasty that reigned at the end of the 16th century.
• The Bahia Palace: built at the end of the 19th century, with the intention of being the largest palace of all time, and also the spectacular Madrassa ben Yosef.
• We will also enter the Medina and walk through the labyrinthine streets that form the famous souk of Marrakech.
• The Jamaa el Fnaa Square: is the main square of the city, here you can find everything: street restaurants, cafes with chic terraces, Games/juice stalls, henna tattoo artists, snake charmers, musicians, dance and much more, The tour ends at 16:00hs. In the afternoon you will have free time.

After breakfast we leave Marrakech and take the highway to Casablanca, where we will visit the spectacular Hassan II Mosque. We will continue to Rabat, capital of Morocco, where we will visit the Méchouar (the ramps and walls that surround the Royal Palace), the Kasbah of Oudayas and the magnificent mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II. After breakfast we will leave for Chefchaouen, our route along the Mediterranean coast, spectacular views of the Rif mountains to the blue town Chefchaouen, This afternoon you will visit the city of Chefchaouen with a local Spanish speaking guide. Chefchaouen A beautiful city, white and blue, which is located in a mountain. It offers its visitors wonderful landscapes. Here you will find local craft exhibitions and you will be able to enjoy a tranquility difficult to find in other places. Chefchaouen is a place to visit, enjoy and get lost among its fantastic little streets surrounded by blue and white houses, which make it a unique city. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

After breakfast at the Riad, our journey begins to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, crossing the Rif mountains and a beautiful oak forest, we will stop at Volubilis to discover the Roman ruins and learn about the Moroccan history of BC, then we will drive to the city of Meknes (founded in the 17th century) where we will stop for lunch. In the afternoon it is time to visit the historical sites of Medina, such as Bab Al Mansour, The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later we head to the city of Fez, where we will spend the night.

The third day we will dedicate entirely to getting to know Fez with the help of a local guide walking through the narrow streets and admiring the constant swarm of people moving through the labyrinthine alleys in the middle of which we will be surprised by neighborhoods such as the Andalusian and magnificent mosques and Koranic schools. After breakfast, we will leave for the Middle Atlas, the first visit we will make to Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco”, then we will pass through Azrou a Berber village, there we will see monkeys and feed them, then we will continue our way towards Marrakech arrival around 5:00 pm.
