The village of Imlil is approximately 70 km (40 miles) south of Marrakech and can be reached by road through the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Situated at the end of the road, Imlil is a popular spot for travelers starting mountain excursions or ascents to Toubkal at 4,167 meters (13,600 feet), the highest mountain in North Africa.
Upon arrival in Imlil, you will be greeted by your guide for your hiking day and mule ride for the elderly. During the day, you can look forward to a walk through the small mountain village of Aremd at 2,100 meters altitude (lunch in a Berber house). After lunch, we continue walking back to Imlil. You will have time to walk up to the Kasbah and explore the surrounding trails that offer magnificent views along the Riraya Valley. At these mountain heights, it becomes true Berber country. On Saturdays, you can visit the local market in Asni Berber.
