3-Days Desert Tour to Merzouga from Marrakech

We will start our journey towards Ouarzazate leaving Marrakech behind to embark on an unforgettable experience. During the journey, we will cross the astonishing landscapes of the High Atlas through the incredible Tizi n'Tichka pass, 2,260 meters high. Halfway through, we will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful and fascinating places in Morocco. The astonishing fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Several series and movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Alexander the Great were filmed here. Continuing our route, we will arrive at Ouarzazate, where we will see the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former residence of one of the most powerful governors of the region and also declared a World Heritage Site. Taking the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura, we will cross the Rose Valley to finally reach the Dades Valley where we will stay (sometimes we stay in Skoura).

After breakfast, we will continue our journey towards the Dades Valley and cross the incredible Todra Gorges to explore and enjoy the wonderful landscape of this valley. Then, continuing on the road towards the Merzouga desert, we will cross the Jorf Palmeral, where the best dates come from. We will have lunch before reaching Erfoud, a small town known for fossil fragments. After lunch, we will head straight to Merzouga, where we will leave the vehicle to take a camel ride and venture into the desert. At the end of the camel ride, we will arrive at the camp where we will spend the night. There, in the most wonderful landscape of Erg Chebbi desert, we will enjoy a delicious and authentic Moroccan dinner and a Moroccan show.

To start this day, we recommend waking up early not to miss the beautiful sunrise in the Erg Chebbi desert. After contemplating this unforgettable moment, we will take the camels again to go to the hotel where you can shower and have breakfast (depending on the type of camp, breakfast and shower can be before the camel ride). Passing through the Tafilalet Palmeral and the town of Rissani (origin of the Alawi dynasty), we will arrive at Alnif, where we will take the road that crosses the Anti Atlas mountain range, where you can enjoy the wonderful mountain landscapes. Then we will arrive at Tazarine (an important Berber village), N'kob, and finally, the Draa Valley and its extraordinary palm grove. After crossing the Anti Atlas, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we will continue to Marrakech, where we will arrive around 6:00 pm. Here our services end.
