Depending on your arrival we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation. You will have free time for lunch, after which we will visit the famous bronze gate of the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, the northern fortress of the medina, also the potters, and we will end the day watching the sunset from the southern fortress. Overnight in Fez.
At 09:00, after breakfast, we begin our guided visit to the ancient Fez medina. The Fez medina was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981 and is one of the largest walled cities in the world; it was founded in the year 790 AD. We will discover and walk its narrow streets full of shops with fresh fruit, a great variety of spices, Berber carpets and many other Moroccan craft items. We will see the oldest university in the world, created before Oxford and the Sorbonne, and we will also visit the tanners. We will have lunch in the centre of the medina in a typical restaurant. After lunch we complete the visit and return to your hotel. Optional: Dinner in a local restaurant with show.
After breakfast at the riad, our journey begins toward Meknes, one of the country’s imperial cities (founded in the 17th century). We will visit Bab al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Then we drive to Volubilis to discover the Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history before Christ. Afterwards we head to Chefchaouen, crossing the Rif Mountains and a beautiful oak forest. Chefchaouen, located in the only intercontinental natural park, is a beautiful white-and-blue city on a mountain. It offers visitors wonderful scenery; here you will find local handicraft displays and can enjoy a tranquillity hard to find elsewhere. Chefchaouen is a place to wander, enjoy and lose yourself among its fantastic little streets lined with blue-and-white houses, which make it a unique city. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast at 10:00 you will enjoy a guided visit of this town. Its blue colour makes it one of the best cities to visit in Morocco, surrounded by many arts, craft shops, restaurants on the square and cafés. It offers photographers wonderful scenery; here you will find local craft exhibits and can enjoy a tranquillity hard to find elsewhere. It is a place to wander, enjoy and lose yourself among its fantastic little streets lined with blue-and-white houses that make it unique. Night in Chefchaouen. After lunch you can go down to the modern city to attend the weekly market (Monday or Thursday). Overnight in Chefchaouen.
After breakfast we head toward the cosmopolitan international city of Tangier. You will visit the Ville Nouvelle and Cape Spartel. From here you can reach the medina and discover its main street Bab Fahs, stroll through the souks or the Kasbah district and observe sections of the old Portuguese fortification from the viewpoint. In addition, you can visit the Caves of Hercules… Afterwards we drive to Asilash, where we spend the night. In Asilash you can admire the beauty of the city walls, relax on its beaches and experience the hospitality of its inhabitants while walking the narrow streets of the walled medina. Overnight in Asilash.
After breakfast we continue to Rabat, capital of the country and another of Morocco’s four imperial cities, where you will enjoy another guided visit. In Rabat you will discover the walls surrounding the old part of the city, followed by the Oudaya Kasbah and the impressive Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the administrative palace of the country. We then continue to the economic capital, Casablanca, a one-hour drive. Overnight in Casablanca.
Departure after breakfast. The first stop is a visit to the largest mosque in Africa, the Hassan II Mosque; its square minaret with green tiles rises 200 metres, the second tallest in the Islamic world after Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It was designed by French architect Michel Pineau, the same who designed the Morocco pavilion at the Seville Universal Exposition. We also visit its famous beach area, La Corniche (optional lunch). Afterwards we depart for Fez.
Free time. At the agreed hour a vehicle will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the airport, where our services will end.
