Day 1 begins with an early departure from Marrakech, crossing the dramatic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a historic ksar known for its striking architecture and appearance in famous films. After exploring this iconic village, continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where you can visit the famous film studios and learn about the region’s cinematic history.
From Ouarzazate, the journey continues through the lush Draa Valley, lined with palm groves and dotted with traditional Berber villages. Upon reaching Zagora, you’ll be greeted by your camel caravan to ride into the desert as the sun sets. Arrive at a cozy desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, live music around the campfire, and a peaceful night in a Berber tent under a canopy of stars.
Day 2 begins with an early wake-up call to witness a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, retrace your journey back to Marrakech, stopping for photos and breaks along the way. This two-day adventure offers a perfect mix of exploration, culture, and relaxation, making it an ideal escape from the city.
Marrakech: Hotel | Riad
Departure at 07:30 from your hotel/Riad in Marrakech towards Zagora. On the way, we will cross the famous Tizi N’tichka pass at 2260 meters altitude where we will make a brief stop for you to take photographs and enjoy the views of Berber villages. Upon arrival at Kasbahs Ait Ben Haddou, a local guide will accompany you for a 1-hour walk, during which he will tell you the history of his village. Our advice here is to keep your eyes wide open and enjoy the paradisiacal landscapes around you, as you will be walking through a UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as the setting for multiple Hollywood movies like Gladiator or Lawrence of Arabia. After lunch, we will drive through the high Atlas mountains, the Draa Valley with its palm trees, and the Berber village of Agdez. Crossing these three places will take us the rest of the day, and we can enjoy an incredible sunset in the Draa Valley with its thousands of palm trees while taking a camel ride, and then arrive at our camp, in the middle of the dunes, under the stars in the desert.
The next day, we will wake up very early to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, we will head towards Ouarzazate where we will visit Kasbah Taurirt, then continue towards the Atlas mountains, have a lunch stop, then return to Marrakech via the Tizi N’tichka pass. You will arrive at your hotel or Riad in Marrakech in the afternoon around 6:00 p.m., ending the trip at the same point where it started. End of our services.
