Your 3-day circuit begins in Fez, where you will depart for Ifrane and the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the way to Merzouga, you’ll pass through the Ziz Valley, stopping at panoramic viewpoints and historic towns along the way. Upon reaching Merzouga, you will embark on a camel trek into the Sahara Desert, where you’ll enjoy a night in a traditional desert camp, surrounded by the dunes.
The next day, you’ll visit the famous Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and continue on to Marrakech. This journey offers a perfect balance of adventure and cultural discovery, making it an ideal choice for those wanting to experience Morocco’s desert landscapes in a short time.
Departure after breakfast from your riad/hotel in Fez towards Ifrane. We will cross the cedar forest of Azrou, where we will stop to see and take photos with the monkeys living there. Next, we will go to Medilt for lunch. Then we will head to the Ziz Valley where we will stop to see the palm grove and the villages in this valley. We will pass through Errachidia, Arfoud, and Rissani to reach Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). After a cup of tea, we will ride camels for 1 hour and 30 minutes to enjoy the breathtaking view of the sunset over the vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to attend a traditional Berber music show while observing the stars and the crescent moon in the stunning Sahara desert. We will spend the night in camps.
Before sunrise, our camel guide will wake you up to climb the dunes and witness the sun emerging above the horizon. We will start the camel journey back. Then we head towards Arfoud, famous for its fossilized marble factories before continuing towards Touroug to reach the Todra Valley, where we will have lunch. Then we will go to the gorges. The Todra River has formed a gorge with enormous vertical walls of great beauty ; it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. We will take a half-hour walk to leisurely explore the gorges. In the afternoon, we will continue towards the Dades Valley passing through Boumalne. We will arrive at the Dades Gorges with several stops for photos. Dinner and accommodation in the Lodge.
After breakfast, we will take a short walk in the Dades Gorges before heading to Marrakech. We will follow the Dades Valley through El Kelaa Magona, the Rose Valley, and the road of a thousand kasbahs until we reach Ouarzazate, where we will see the Taourir Kasbah, then we will go to the village of Ait Ben Haddou. We will have time to explore the famous UNESCO protected site, which has appeared in many movies such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and many more. Then we will drive through the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas to arrive in Marrakech around 7 p.m., end of our service.
